Rules are Made to be Broken

There are certain fashion “rules” all girls learn growing up. Like never wear brown with black, don’t mix prints, and don’t wear white after Labor Day. Well, those days are long gone.

Actually, my favorite outfits are the ones that don’t match in the traditional sense. A good mismatch is eye catching and attention grabbing.

Feminine pieces work great contrasted against edgy items. The juxtaposition draws the eye in and brings character and dimension to any outfit. Lace acts like a neutral paired with this ripped up vintage Aerosmith tee. And these leopard Schutz ankle boots complement the rock ‘n’ roll vibe.

Other outfit combos I like are stripes and florals, graphic tees and structured suit pants, and lace and leather. What are your favorite “mismatch” outfit combos?
